5) SLUG (2004 - rev. 2012)* for classical guitar and volume pedal.
Aart Strootman: classical guitar.
Recorded in 2012 at studio Tms / Tilburg by Danny Wieggers.
The Press On “Slug” performed live by D.Cicilia :
“ Several unusual playing techniques like tapping with the fingers of both hands on the neck and knocking on the bridge to give chords a soft reverb were used in "Slug". Crijns forcefully unravels them and places smoothly flowing runs in contrast with abrupt, biting chords. A full house listened breathlessly to the virtuoso performance by Diangelo Cicilia, capturing the audience in this journey into the sound possibilities of his guitar.”

WOW! This is a rather new approach. Two i.m.o very good female singers offer precisely intoned melodies(?!) & voicings routed as well as integrated in(to) contemporary operatic/chamber music. But this special kind of very dynamic chamber music here isn't executetd by chamber musicians but by electric (post-)zeuhlprog-power-trio PoiL plus a vibraphone player. Take your time to explore & fathom it. Very rewarding! ROWIAL
all of it good: the whimsy, the drama, the wild, the cosmic; deftly dancing the line between order and chaos, between the sublime and the vile, between the fathomable and the ineffable. puts the listener in a liminal limbo you don't get to be in (and still enjoy!) often. Tim Patterson
